Trolling Motor Installs
What trolling motors are you able to install?
We’re a Minn Kota pro installer which allows us to install Minn Kota motors at a discounted price. We also frequently install Garmin Kraken trolling motors.
what if i can’t bring my boat to you?
We offer an on-site install for those who are unable to bring there boats to us. We’re able to travel up to 3 hours North or South of the Sunshine Coast QLD.
Yes, absolutely. If we have scanned your boat, we can design and fabricate a mount for you. All of our previous mounts have been uploaded to our online store to purchase.
If you can’t see your boat, please reach out as it may not have been updated on our store.
are you able to do the wiring?
Yes, we have a qualified marine electrician that can perform all the electrical requirements.
We can provide an estimate over the phone or a detailed quote if you send a photo of your boat through to info@firstlightfabrication.com.au.
We will need to know the make and brand of the trolling motor you’re interested in to provide an estimate.
you haven’t done my boat before, can you still ship a mount?
We require a scan of the bow and cabin to design our mounts.
If you’re able to find a local 3D scanning business to scan your boat and send through their file, we will be able to work with you to design and fabricate your mount.
how much notice do i need to give to book in?
We generally operate on a 3-4 week lead time.

What are the shipping options?
We charge shipping based on weight. Some of our products are bulky and cost a lot to post.
The standard cost of shipping will vary depending on the size if the parcel. Shipping costs are calculated based off of the size of the parcel and your destination.
We generally use Australia Post to ship most items, but for items over 1m in length we use Big Post or Shippit.
We generally have a 24hour turn around from time of order. This will differ if you order over a weekend of a public holiday. We are a small team based on the Sunshine Coast & endeavour to make, pack & send your order asap. Once it is out our door it is dependent on Australia Post & the freight companies. We always send you tracking information so you can track where your parcel is at.

What do I do if I received a defective order?
Take a photo for us & send it through to info@firstlightfabrication & we will send a new item to you.
How much is it for a custom job?
Each custom job is different & depends on the size, location & numerous other variables. Contact us as info@firstlightfabrication.com.au for a quote.
Why do we use PETG for our printed products?
PETG is UV resistant, hard wearing & has the ability to maintain shape & withstand temperature variance.
How do I make changes to an order I’ve already placed?
If you need to make changes before we have shipped your item, email us at info@firstlightfabrication.com.au & we can make amendments from there.

How is the product made? Where do the materials come from?
All First Light products are made in house by us, any other products supplied come from the specific manufacturer, like the Gerber products used in our Push Lock Range.

How do you make your plastic products?
We 3D print all plastic products here on site using PETG plastic.
