Sunshine Coast Business Awards – Manufacturing Award Finalist

It’s been a busy time here at First Light, we’ve recently been announced as an award finalist in the Sunshine Coast Business Awards in the Manufacturing category!

We thought we would take the time to outline what the process has been so far. We were nominated by the Sunshine Coast Manufacturers Excellence Forum & asked to submit a comprehensive application detailing; who we are, what we do, how we do it, the results & what makes us exceptional.

Based on the written application we were shortlisted & subsequently announced as a finalist & asked to present to a panel of judges on all things First Light Fabrication. We focused on our story to date; Angus working FIFO as a water treatment plant operator while developing his side hustle in the garage at home, to where we are now, an established business in Corbould Park, employing five staff and creating some incredible products & custom modifications!

Last week we attended the Finalist Media Master Class & Cocktail Reception up in Noosa where we celebrated & networked with the other finalists & heard from local media establishments about how to use the awards to help amplify our business. Lots of lessons learned & the wealth of information in the room was inspiring.

We can’t wait for the gala in November & to take the time to celebrate how far we’ve come in a few short years. It’s been a roller coaster ride with pandemics, babies & a broken leg thrown into the mix, but we are here & we are up for it!
